Tanker drivers and junior staff staged a protest outside the Hindustan Petroleum Corporation (HPCL) depot in Narwal, Jammu, demanding immediate action over what they described as repeated and unnecessary stoppages of fuel tankers by police and traffic authorities.
The protesters alleged that frequent checks and delays are affecting the timely transportation of petroleum products, causing operational difficulties and disrupting fuel supply. They urged the administration to establish a permanent mechanism to ensure the smooth movement of fuel tankers.
The protesters also warned that if their demands are not addressed promptly, they will continue and intensify their agitation.
