J&K ACB Catches Police ASI Red-Handed While Allegedly Accepting ₹5,000 Bribe in Reasi

The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) on Thursday arrested a police Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) after allegedly catching him red-handed while accepting a bribe of ₹5,000 outside the Reasi court.

The accused has been identified as Talib, who was reportedly posted at the Talwara Police Post. According to the complainant, the ASI had allegedly been demanding money in connection with a case and had also taken money from him earlier.

Fed up with the repeated demands, the complainant approached the ACB and lodged a complaint. Following this, the ACB planned a trap operation. On Thursday, the complainant handed over ₹5,000 to the accused outside the court premises.

As soon as the money was allegedly accepted, the ACB team, which had already laid a trap, apprehended the ASI. The accused was reportedly in police uniform at the time of the operation.

Further legal and departmental action is being taken by the ACB in connection with the case.
