As the autumn session of the Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly commenced, BJP legislators staged a protest inside the House, raising several public and employee-related issues. The protest focused on the demands of National Health Mission (NHM) employees, the recent hike in power tariffs and the regularisation of daily-wage workers.
During the opening proceedings, BJP legislators displayed posters carrying messages such as “NHM Employees Ke Saath Insaaf Karo,” “Power Tariff Rollback Karo” and “Regularisation of Daily Wagers.” Through these posters, the legislators highlighted their demands and sought government action on the concerns raised by employees and workers.
The protest comes amid the BJP’s stated intention to raise issues related to employment, outsourcing, electricity tariffs and other matters during the Assembly session. These issues are expected to remain part of the political discussions surrounding the functioning of the Jammu and Kashmir administration.
The BJP’s demonstration took place as the Assembly began its autumn session, with party legislators drawing attention to the demands of NHM employees and daily wagers, along with concerns over electricity tariff increases.
Meanwhile, the Speaker directed that the protest should not be recorded in the proceedings of the House and should not be reported.
