Kathua, J&K | August 17, 2025 — In the wake of continuous heavy rainfall across Kathua district and other parts of the Jammu & Kashmir Union Territory, a flood-like situation has emerged as water levels in rivers and nallahs continue to rise alarmingly.
Authorities have warned of a possible flash flood, especially in hilly areas, urging residents to exercise extreme caution. The general public in Kathua district, particularly those living in higher altitudes, are strongly advised to stay indoors and avoid going near rivers or nallahs under any circumstances.
