Jammu (Rural) Police have taken strict action against two-wheeler riders attempting to evade traffic enforcement by concealing or tampering with vehicle registration plates.
Earlier today, a motorcycle heading towards Ban Toll from Jammu was spotted with its registration number intentionally obscured using tape. A police official noticed the violation and promptly alerted the naka personnel stationed at Ban Toll. The vehicle was swiftly intercepted with the assistance of on-duty Traffic Police officials.
The rider of the motorcycle, bearing registration number JK02DP 1734, was issued a fine of ₹5,500 under the Motor Vehicles Act by the Traffic Police.
Jammu Police have appealed to the public, especially parents, to educate and counsel their children against engaging in such illegal practices. Hiding, tampering with, or altering number plates to avoid challans is a punishable offense that can lead to heavy fines, legal consequences, and even vehicle seizure.
