The Deputy Commissioner, Poonch, has issued a circular directing all government employees in the district to remain present on duty and restricting the sanction of leave ahead of a proposed VIP visit scheduled for June 7, 2026, in connection with the “100 Days of Nasha Mukt Jammu & Kashmir Abhiyan–2026.”
According to the order, no leave of any kind will be granted to government employees with immediate effect until the completion of the VIP programme, except in cases of extreme exigency and with prior approval from the competent authority.
The circular further states that all officers and officials have been instructed not to apply for leave during the specified period except under unavoidable and exceptional circumstances.
Attendance at the event scheduled on June 7 has been made compulsory for all government employees serving in the district unless specifically exempted by the district administration.
The Deputy Commissioner has also directed District and Sectoral Officers to ensure the presence of employees under their control and has made them personally responsible for ensuring full compliance with the instructions.
The administration warned that any unauthorized absence or violation of the directives will be viewed seriously and dealt with in accordance with the applicable service rules.
All concerned departments have been asked to comply with the instructions in letter and spirit to ensure smooth conduct of the proposed VIP visit and related programme.
