Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of the Rajouri-Poonch Range, Sandeep Wazir, visited forward locations along the Line of Control (LoC) in Poonch district on Thursday to assess operational readiness and review the security situation.
During his tour of the Sawjian and Anganpathri forward areas, DIG Wazir evaluated current vigilance measures and engaged with deployed police personnel. Highlighting the border region’s strategic significance, he instructed forces to remain highly alert, boost surveillance, and coordinate closely with other security agencies. Additionally, the DIG met with local minority community representatives and Village Defence Guards (VDGs), praising their vital role in preserving peace and communal harmony.
