Jammu: Police Station Miran Sahib has arrested a man for allegedly possessing liquor illegally and recovered 62 bottles of JK Whisky from his possession.
According to police, a police party was conducting routine patrolling in the area when they intercepted the accused and conducted a search. During the search, 62 bottles of JK Whisky, each containing 180 ml, were recovered from his possession.
The accused has been identified as Darshan Lal, son of Chunni Lal, a resident of Brijnagar Khariya.
The recovered liquor was seized by the police in accordance with the prescribed legal procedure. In connection with the recovery, FIR No. 154/2026 has been registered at Police Station Miran Sahib under Section 48-A of the Excise Act.
Police said further investigation into the case is underway to ascertain the circumstances surrounding the possession of the liquor and other related details.
