A tragic incident was reported from the Kishtwar-Doda region of Jammu and Kashmir, where a young woman lost her life after being struck by lightning. The deceased has been identified as Pinky Devi, a resident of Khuddhar.
According to reports, the incident occurred on Tuesday evening while she was grazing sheep and goats in the hills. A sudden lightning strike hit the area, killing Pinky Devi on the spot. Three sheep also died in the incident.
Family members said that her wedding was scheduled for next month, and preparations were already underway. The untimely death has left her family and the entire village in deep shock and mourning.
Meanwhile, several parts of Doda district witnessed severe weather conditions, including heavy rain, flash floods, and reports of cloudbursts. Authorities have advised residents to avoid riverbanks, open fields, and sheltering under trees during thunderstorms and to follow weather advisories issued by the administration.
