A tragic road accident took place in Jammu and Kashmir’s Kathua district, where a car reportedly skidded off the road and plunged into a deep gorge, resulting in the death of two persons.
The accident occurred on the Bani-Basohli road in the Satasar area during the intervening night of Sunday and Monday. Soon after receiving information about the incident, police and rescue teams reached the spot and launched a search and rescue operation.
After several hours of efforts, the rescue teams managed to retrieve the bodies of the two persons from the deep gorge.
The deceased have been identified as Gablash Kumar, son of Bishambar Dass, a resident of Kaloga Roulka in Bani tehsil, and Raj Kumar, son of Badri Nath, a resident of Dandiot Sandroon in Bani tehsil.
Police have registered a case at Police Station Bani and initiated an investigation to ascertain the exact circumstances that led to the accident.
The incident has left the families of the deceased in deep shock, while further details are awaited.
