Woman Drug Peddler Arrested with 10.25 Grams of Chitta in Samba

In a major success under the ongoing Nasha Mukt Jammu & Kashmir Abhiyan, Samba Police arrested a woman for alleged drug peddling and recovered 10.25 grams of heroin-like substance (commonly known as chitta) from her possession in Vijaypur.

According to police, acting on specific intelligence, a team from Police Station Vijaypur intercepted a woman who was walking from Rakh Barotian towards AIIMS Vijaypur under suspicious circumstances. During her search, the police recovered approximately 10.25 grams of heroin-like substance.

The accused has been identified as Nifan Bibi alias Nifa, daughter of Tej Ali and wife of Mohd Younis, a resident of Rakh Barotian, Tehsil Vijaypur, District Samba. She was taken into custody on the spot, and the contraband was seized.

A case has been registered at Police Station Vijaypur under FIR No. 108/2026 under Sections 8/21/22 of the NDPS Act. Police have launched a detailed investigation to ascertain the source and intended distribution network of the recovered narcotics.
