Jammu Traffic Police has launched a special enforcement drive against vehicles using black films, curtains, stickers and other materials that obstruct visibility through windows.
Traffic teams are checking vehicles across the city and taking action against drivers found violating the rules. Officials said clear visibility is essential for safe driving, as any obstruction can affect the driver’s ability to see pedestrians, other vehicles and road hazards.
During the drive, traffic officials also stopped passenger vehicles and directed drivers to remove unauthorised stickers, curtains and other obstructions from the windows.
Officials said the action is being taken in accordance with Supreme Court directions regarding the use of tinted films and visibility-obstructing materials on vehicle windows.
Challan First, Vehicle May Be Seized for Repeat Violation
According to the traffic police, drivers found violating the rules will face a challan. However, if the same vehicle is caught violating the rules again, authorities may take stricter action, including seizure of the vehicle.
The Traffic Police said the campaign is aimed at improving road safety, ensuring better visibility for drivers and preventing the misuse of vehicle curtains or other materials that completely obstruct the view inside passenger vehicles.
The department has urged vehicle owners and drivers to remove unauthorised films, curtains, stickers and other obstructions from vehicle windows and follow traffic safety regulations.
