JAMMU, OCTOBER 9: In view of the Navratri festival, Jammu Traffic Police has issued a special traffic advisory for devotees visiting the Bawe Wali Mata Temple at Bahu Fort. The traffic arrangements will remain in force from October 11 to October 19, 2026, to ensure smooth vehicular movement and facilitate the movement of devotees.
According to the advisory, vehicles approaching the temple will be diverted from the Bagh-e-Bahu Police Station crossing towards Qasim Nagar and the Raika Forest Check Post before proceeding to the temple. A one-way traffic system will remain in operation on the route leading to the shrine to minimise congestion.
The advisory also states that heavy vehicles will not be permitted to enter the Bagh-e-Bahu and Bahu Fort areas from the Raika Forest Check Post during the specified period. Drivers have been asked to follow the designated routes and cooperate with traffic personnel.
Designated Parking Facilities
Devotees can park their vehicles at the following locations:
- New JDA parking near Bawe Temple.
- Main paid parking opposite the temple.
- Government Higher Secondary School ground, Bagh-e-Bahu.
- Railway parking area near Bagh-e-Bahu.
Traffic Police has warned that vehicles parked illegally along roadsides may be towed away, and action may be taken under the Motor Vehicles Act.
